Présentation de l’organiste qui jouera Bach : Andrew Wilson-Dickson est un musicien polyvalent et complet : en tant que compositeur, il a réalisé sa musique, des musiques de chambre aux opéras commandés et diffusés par la BBC et soutenus par le Conseil des arts et autres fondations. En tant que claviériste (élève de John Lill et Nicolas Danby), il donne des récitals de piano (duos 4m et 2pianos), des récitals d’orgue, joue de la musique de chambre avec plusieurs groupes et dirige l’orchestre baroque gallois au clavecin. Après 20 ans dans l’équipe au Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, il a reçu une bourse d’honneur et enseigne maintenant à temps partiel. Cette réduction de ses engagements pédagogiques lui permet de faire plus de musique – en composition et en concert. Il dirige également la seule chorale du pays de Galles spécialisée en musiques anciennes. Le livre d’Andrew ‘The Story of Christian Music’ est disponible dans une douzaine langues, du coréen au hongrois. Andrew Wilson-Dickson organise des stages d’été de musiques anciennes pour cordes à Marnaves.

Andrew Wilson-Dickson, biography
Andrew Wilson-Dickson is a musical polymath: as a composer he has had his music, from chamber music to operas, commissioned and broadcast by the BBC and supported by the Arts Council and other foundations. As a keyboard player (a pupil of John Lill and NicolasDanby) he gives piano and organ recitals, plays chamber music with a number of groups and leads the Welsh Baroque Orchestra from the harpsichord. After 20 years on the staff of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama he was awarded an honorary fellowship and now teaches there part-time. This reduction in his teaching commitments allows him to make more music – on paper and in concert. He also conducts the only choir in Wales specialising in early choral music. Andrew’s book ‘the Story of Christian Music’ is still available in a dozen languages, from Korean to Hungarian. Andrew Wilson-Dickson organises summer string course in Marnaves (see below)
